I love a vintage hat block.
 
The wear and patina on this one is so gorgeous. Originally from a Manchester hat factory it will have been used for forming the shape and size of the hats.
 
One of my favourite things about this block is that the people who have worked using this particular one have put their names on the bottom, which to me adds to its history and charm. I really wonder who these folk are and what their stories are.
 
Nowadays they are great as decorative pieces and look fab in a collection. Tall bobbin stand not included.
