An unusual utilitarian galvanised bucket. 
A guess would say it isn’t watertight! Quite possibly used for collecting vegetables or potatoes. 
It has a great look and would make a fantastic place to store the vegetables, logs or loo rolls or to hold a large plant pot! Or even. . . dare I say a potted Christmas tree 🎄
