A genuine vintage smelting pot, aka crucible.
 
This would have been used for carrying molten metal to pour into a mould. It is a very heavy, very tactile vessel, with its original typography stating its capacity. It is formed from some sort of stone, though I am unsure what stone.
 
It would make a fabulous vase, a utensil pot in the kitchen or a great planter.
 
Measurements: 17cm high x 13 diameter across the top not including the pouring spout.
