Vintage Burrows and Sturgess of Derby Lidded Crate
£0.00Price
A vintage Burrows and Sturgess bottle crate with lid.
This is an unusual example as it has had an extra life with scratch built modifications!
The lid is a later addition as is the sliding side door. It appears that it has been used as a pet carrier in a former life. The feet were made from cotton reels!
The ultimate in make do and mend. . . make what you need out of what you have!!
Burrows and Sturgess was founded in 1850 by a Mr Pritchard who sold home made ginger beer in stoneware bottles, to passing traffic from the Old Toll House on Kedleston Road in Derby.
A great storage box for the home, perfect for beer bottles or shoes, etc.
