A heavy painted vintage trunk. 
 
The shape that has been cut into the front of the box was for a padlock to sit neatly against the trunk without protruding, the handles fall neatly also into sunken slots in the sides. This was possibly so that these trunks could be stacked and loaded side by side using the maximum available space without wasting any with protruding metalwork. 
 
The inside is clean, the marks are where the paint has been rubbed off.
 
It has had a hard life as it has travelled, however we feel it’s overall patina is what gives it its character and tells its story.
