Victorian Small Wood and Cane Campaign Chair
A fabulous Victorian folding campaign chair crafted from wood and cane. Campaign furniture was used by British army and navy officers up until the 19th century.
Many of these officers were of high social position and often carried high quality portable furniture to the campaigns they were participating in.
Naval furniture was often small in size reflecting the cramped quarters they resided in, so there is a possibility that this piece was used by a naval officer rather than army!
A glorious small piece of British history that can still be used today in any room in the home or taken on your voyage if you’re so inclined!
There is some age related wear which is shown in the close up photos. None of this is detrimental to the use of the chair, nor does it detract from its appearance.
