These are really unusual and unique drawers. They come with a little of their own story. 
Hand made for a purpose. There’s a note inside them saying that they were built in Jamaica by a Miss “somebody’s” father to carry “something” down to the officers mess in Doltan. There are a couple of words that are hard to decipher and the item that was carried in them, is partly missing, sadly. The note is featured in my photos.
They’re extremely well built and so unusual in design, this is obviously in connection to what they were used to carry. 
A great little set of drawers for crafting pieces or for someone who does fairs and needs somewhere to keep the tags, pens, money, etc and it’s really easy to transport. 
It would also make a perfect store for paint brushes and tubes of paint for a travelling artist.
