A stunning piece of vintage French industrial history and nostalgia. 
I have had these before, however only once from France and I don’t often get them with the numbers. These can be wall hung or freestanding, the ledge at the bottom makes a fab shelf, they’re gloriously decorative. 
 
They would have been hung on the wall beside a clocking in/out machine in a work place, possibly a factory or a shop.
 
These are particularly nice as the English ones are usually long and narrow, these are different altogether. Made of solid wood, including the slots, so are very heavy. They have a beautiful worn patina.
