This is a fantastic, unusual long basket from France. 
A really great looking basket with a black painted band around it. 
The lid is hinged and has loops on the top front, which have a metal bar pass through them to lock the lid closed. There is some slight damage to the front right, however this not detrimental to the locking system and is not noticeable once the lid is closed. Otherwise in good clean condition, with just a few bruises from its previous life. 
I don’t know what this would originally have been used for, however how fab would it be for logs, books, throws, cushions, summer clothing. . .
