Superb Edwardian Ironstone Slop Bucket From Royal Oak Hotel, Keswick

Superb Edwardian Ironstone Slop Bucket From Royal Oak Hotel, Keswick

£85.00Price

A lovely example of a white ironstone Edwardian slop bucket, this one being from the Royal Oak Hotel in Keswick, as can be seen from the crest proudly emblazoned upon it.

Slop buckets were not used for the gruesome tasks the word slop conjures up. They were used to discard washing water or food waste.

This one still has its original bamboo handle, which can be very easily removed should you so wish.

Perfect as an ice bucket to chill the bubbles or two or three bottles of wine.

This is a heavy piece and has one small historic crack to the rim.

Measurements: 27cm diameter (32cm inc handle knobs) x 27cm high
