A glorious piece of French folk art! 
This lovely farmer has been painted onto a small wooden panel in oils. 
It is so simple yet so emotive. There he sits with his glass of beer, like he has worked in the fields  and has had a long hard day, he is so in need of a small glass of something cool. There he sits resting and enjoying it.
