This absolutely stunning French hand carved cupboard is late 1800’s and in the style of
 Louis XVI. 
It features a sawtooth shelf system, or as the French call it crémaillère. Which basically means, instead of drilled holes, it features vertical wooden tracks with knotched teeth on the inside. The shelves rest on wooden strips in these knotches, allowing for easy adjustment, either up or down. 
This sawtooth design is a classic hallmark of well crafted 19th century French cabinetry. 
The door has such a beautiful design and the pediment on the top too. It still retains its original key and lock and can be wall hung or freestanding.
