Stunning Black Victorian Wooden Trunk
This beautiful old trunk was used by the former owners grandfather to transport his belongings to boarding school in Oxford in the 1940’s. However the trunk itself dates back to the late 1800’s so must have been in the family long before it was used for this purpose.
Its great age is beautifully illustrated by the most wonderful crackle paint patina that has been created over its life. It has blacksmith made hinges and corner plates. In the top there are four studs which possibly held a label in place with the family name and address.
A perfect size for a coffee table or blanket box.
Measurements: 64 x 36 x 45cm high.
