Save The Children Fund Collection Trunk C. 1950’s
A fabulous piece of British history, that is totally useful too!
This lovely piece is a collection box for the
Save The Children Fund, the original cover over the slot and original strong handles still present. In fact the cover still has traces of the red wax that would have sealed it once collected.
The original paper label is still attached, proudly stating that the young Princess Elizabeth is their Patron, albeit a little damaged, which would be expected, considering that it is over 70 years old and made of paper.
The wear is not only to be expected, but also gives this useful little trunk its history, the evidence of its use and age.
The base has had a repair during its long life, which means it has lots of useful life left in it.
Styling tips:
Great in the bathroom for spare toiletries, in the sitting room for magazines and books, it would be useful in the hallway for gloves and hats. . . so many uses!
