A lovely old countertop display cabinet. 
This is from a retail setting and would have displayed wares inside it, perhaps perfume or trinklements and would be perfect for the same in the home. Alternatively it would make a useful extra piece of storage in the kitchen for canisters or mugs.
Can if desired, be adapted to wall hang to display a collection of something special.
