This a rare piece of British history, in the form of an enamel sign.
 
This would have been on the wooden box containing 4 of of these devices. This should by rights be long gone.
 
A W stands for Albright and Wilson the manufacturer and this sign explains their storage and handling instructions. Would be a quirky piece for the downstairs loo.
