Rare attractive vintage chocolate shop display box.
 
Velvona chocolate was produced by Williams’s Toffee and Chocolate of Liverpool. The factory was on Waterworks Street in Bootle from 1904 and that factory was demoloished in 1994.
 
This box was originally from a family owned shop that closed in 1930. The chocolate bars would have been delivered to the shop in the box then displayed on the counter in it, once all the chocolate had sold these were often discarded. So they are a nice find and this one is no exception.
 
These look lovely on the kitchen counter for condiments or on a desk for bits and pieces.
