Dating from around the 1930’s with original sign writing on both sides advertising Portland Shoes. This was a shoe manufacturer from Leicester.
 
Founded in 1872 in Leicester, they were the oldest private limited company in the shoe trade. They eventually amalgamated with another company in 1979.
