This wooden clock depicts one of Napoleon’s 18 Marshals of the Empire, Marshal Ney.
Once fated as a hero he was eventually executed by a firing squad in 1815, after being defeated at the battle of Waterloo and being charged with treason.
Hand painted with a glorious patina. This is a rare piece for the home. Circa early 1800’s
It has been converted to quartz movement (AA Battery)
