These beautiful panels are decorator samples from the late 1700’s. 
The interior decorators of the day would take these to the chateau’s and grand houses to show a sample of what they could paint on the walls. It was basically a sample of the painters ability.

The shorter one has some creasing the longer has some wear, both still stunning pieces and in good condition considering their great age. 
Could be hung horizontally too!
