These lovely little French ironstone onion boards were used for chopping onions as the glaze makes them easy to wash and they’re not tainted by the smell.
 
They are a rare find these days. From the turn of the 1900’s this board shows wear commensurate to it’s age and has a small chip on the back. The makers mark can be clearly seen on the reverse too. They make beautiful little serving platters or decorative pieces in the kitchen.
