An original vintage SINGER machinist light.  Circa 1920. 
This would originally have been fixed to the singer, sewing machine workstation. It has now been fitted to a SINGER sewing machine flywheel to enable it to be used as a freestanding lamp.
Manufactured by Simanco (Singer Manufacturing Company).
The Singer Company, from around 1910 manufactured a range of professional furniture , intended for the textile industry, such as stools, chairs, workstations, and of course, work lights, of which this is one ! 
A stunning, reading lamp or bedside lamp, or even an elegant desk lamp.
