Oil on Canvas Early Photograph
£70.00Price
This wonderful little late Victorian piece of art is an early coloured photograph. . . but not, read on!
Before the advent of colour photography people wanted their photographs to look real and lifelike rather than black-and-white photographs as had been the way, so artists would overpaint the black-and-white photograph with oils and bring them to life with colour.
This is a fabulous example of that with a lovely chap and his chair as the subject.
