Late 1800’s French Oval Vendange Table

Late 1800’s French Oval Vendange Table

£350.00Price

A wonderful oval french vendange wine tasting table. Also known as a vigneron table.

These are more commonly round, so it is unusual to find this shape and size.

This very versatile tilt top table, was used in a vineyard for the workers to sit around and eat lunch and also for wine tasting. When visitors came to sample the produce the table would be opened out to bear glasses and bottles. When the tasting was over, it would quickly and easily be folded down and stored until next time.

Originating from the late 1800’s this has the mechanism typical for this type of table. Often the simple V shaped trestle, sometimes a square shape.

These work very well as an occasional dining table.

It has had a very small amount of historic wood worm holes and has been treated by us as a precaution. The top has a slight warp at the end of one of the panels, both things shown in the photo’s. Neither things take away from the beauty and usefulness of this piece.

It has a buttery aged patina to the top, just as like it. The legs wear consistent with its age.

110cm Long

65cm Wide
