This vintage French wall shelf with cupboard has the versatility of being used freestanding or hung. Turned the other way up and hung, the panel at the bottom when hung would look great with hooks added. 
 
It has been painted in its lifetime and that paint is now peeling and chippy, so has a lovely well used look.
