An absolutely stunning piece. It has it all going for it, stoneware, wicker, typography. . . what more could one want?
 
It originates from Clayton and Jowett Ltd of Liverpool. They manufactured essences, such as Essence of Lemon and Essence of Peppermint. So this pot would likely have been used for that purpose.
 
Nowadays it is a perfect vase for beautiful tall flowers or twigs or as an umbrella/stick stand.
