A glorious antique chunk of carved wood. 
We believe this would possibly have been the top of a column in a previous life. 
Thankfully it was saved and makes a fantastic display stand in a vintage or contemporary home. 
Could be very easily adapted to hang on the wall as a corbel shelf as an alternative. The back is flat so would sit flush to the wall. 
This would be stunning in a bathroom on the wall, near a roll top bath with candles and bottles displayed on it . . . sorry just how I imagine it! Of course it would look equally stunning anywhere.
