A piece from days gone by when we had pens and books and didn’t use a computer to learn. 
Manufactured by Arnold of Leeds a prominent British publisher known for producing school supplies and teaching aids. 
These large sheets were designed for classroom use, allowing a teacher to point to letters whilst students responded orally. Creating a direct association between a symbol and its sound.
In other words focusing on phonetics! 
The sheets are fixed to wooden strips at the top, which has hooks on the back to hang over a door or the top of a chair, originally over the blackboard.
