Glorious Victorian Turned Stool.
This stool, still strong and sturdy, has the most wonderful wear showing the life it has lived.
Unusual to start with, in the fact that it was made with 3 stretchers up the sides instead of one or two, which are the more common.
Some of these stretchers have been lost over its long hard working life, however with no real detriment to the stool.
Two of the remaining stretchers have the most glorious wear.
One of the turned ones has been worn so that the top is flat and one of the side stretchers has been worn so thin, but it still remains as proof of its hard workaday life.
One of the nicest things for me is that the legs are turned at the top by the seat, rather than half way down.
Still lots of use in it and extremely decorative.
