A genuine Cambodian fish trap, professionally converted into a unique statement light! 
The shade was originally used by a Cambodian fisherman. The fishermen stand in shallow water and when they see a fish, they trap it within the wicker trap, by submersing the wider part into the bottom of the river, then reach in from the top to retrieve the fish with their hand. A very successful method of fishing used traditionally for many centuries.
They are used in an annual fish catching ceremony where only traditional tools are allowed even today. 
There are no fishy smells or residue remaining on this beautiful, natural light.
