This is a really pretty oil on canvas floral, painted by Renaud Gouiran (1937-2009).

The artist was a contemporary painter, born in Valence, France.

Best known for his impressionist style paintings often created using a pallet knife to give thick textured strokes as you can see in this painting.

He favoured painting florals, Provencal landscapes, and coastal scenes.

During his career he exhibited extensively in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, and also in Switzerland, Germany, the USA and Australia. 

This is typical of his style and is a wonderful example of roses in a confit pot.
