A superb French Etagere from a haberdashery shop. 
Each little drawer is a storage box which is fabric lined in florals. The boxes themselves would have been the same on the outside (see photo of the rear of the Etagere).
Somewhere in its long life time, the whole thing has been painted and on the shelves this is now chippy and worn.
Four of the six drawers still have their original hand stitched labels. The ones that remain are: 
Gants = Gloves
Voilettes = Veils
Mouchoirs = Handkerchiefs 
Dentelles = Laces
The boxes have had a lot of use, as is to be expected and some have had repairs made to them, rather than discarding the damaged boxes. 
This is good in the fact that it has kept this piece complete and original. 
This is wonderful rare piece of antique storage which could be used as shelves and the boxes stacked and used separately.
