A lovely French POPULÉUM apothecary jar. Circa 19th century. 
The design is hand painted and is so decorative. 
It has nibbles and hairline cracks, which is to be expected from its long age, however nothing that detracts from its beauty. 
It would look fabulous in the bathroom and is useful too for the cotton wool pads or hair accessories.
