A lovely piece of vintage furniture that has always has a very practical life. It was used by a carpenter for his tools and was possibly built if not adapted by him for that use.
 
It is heavy and would make the perfect coffee table or extra storage in the hallway or bedroom doubling up as a seat. The sections inside slide for access and the top one lifts out. There is more storage for books or blankets etc below the sliding lid. These are easily removed with a couple of screws if you would like the space of the whole trunk and the trays could be used in the wardrobe or the kitchen cupboard for sorting and storing other things.
