The patina on these fabulous drawers is amazing. The last colour they were painted was white, below that there is green, black and gesso which was originally used to make the wood look like it had a grain.
 
The original handles are porcelain and have also been painted in its history, but are also now chippy and worn.
 
At some point during its lifetime and one of the characteristics that attracted us to it, it has had the trim taken off the top right hand side, obviously to fit into a tight space! This doesn’t detract, in fact isn’t noticeable unless you know, it only adds to the charm of them.
