Imagine going into the store for half a pound of biscuits and the shop keeper carefully removes them from a beautiful etched glass jar bearing the name of the renowned baker of said biscuits. A company with a royal appointment. . . you know they are going to be a real treat for teatime! 
Meredith & Drew was the original name of the biscuit giant we know today as McVitie’s! 
This wonderful piece of retail advertising history has survived the test of time with only a couple of nibbles (to be expected) to its rim, (see photos) which are not visible when the lid is on. The lid also bears their name and “by appointment” 
We have one of these in our kitchen that we keep the coffee pods in and it is one of our treasured pieces. In fact this one is even better than the one we have as ours doesn’t say “biscuits” on it, just the company name. 
This jar is a lovely container to sit amongst your canisters and jars or alone to shine in its own right, to hold anything you wish. . . or of course biscuits!
