Antique Glass Hanging Ladies Toilet Sign c. 1871

Antique Glass Hanging Ladies Toilet Sign c. 1871

£0.00Price

A fabulous piece of history from Macclesfield Parkside Mental Asylum.

The asylum was built in 1871 with an addition of the female epileptic block in 1891 and a male block coming later.

This fabulous window would have been in an internal door, either to a toilet area or maybe to the doors of the ladies ward.

The asylum closed in 1997.

Surviving over 100 years, the door is no longer with the sign, however it has been repurposed to hang, which would be a fabulous addition to the downstairs loo or above the door on the way in.

It is not sharp around the edges, so quite safe to handle.

Measurements: 34 x 34cm
