This is a wonderful example of a French plaster capital depicting the acanthus leaf. 
In fabulous condition and a beautiful decorative piece. 
The top could have a piece of wood added to use as  a display stand/shelf or it can be hung high enough so the top can’t be seen. 
An absolutely stunning piece, however it is displayed!
