I have never seen anything of the like. . . 
It is apparently an antique pharmacy jar with a removable strainer and a lid. 
There is a small nibble around the rim, however nothing major and the lid covers it. 
I have displayed coral and shells in it, however it would be great in the kitchen for eggs, coffee pods, sweeties, grapes. . . let your imagination run wild!

16cm high excluding the lid.
