This totally utilitarian vintage crate/trunk is so stunning, with its original typography and also chippy worn paint too.
 
The lid is still intact as are the original hinges.
 
The ends read: RIPE BANANAS, THE ALL FOOD FRUIT, IN PRIME CONDITION, ALL THE YEAR ROUND. The main body of the crate and the lid reads: TOM KING LTD, BANANA MERCHANTS, NOTTINGHAM.
 
This a truly rare and unusual piece and useful too. Not only great storage but strong enough to sit on.
 
Would make an amazing talking point in the hallway or boot room for storing shoes in. Equally it would make a very unusual coffee table or trunk at the foot of the bed.
