This gorgeous French vintage cabinet started its life as a key cabinet, possibly in a hotel. This is evident from the holes in the backboard. However someone has had a need for a cabinet and so. . . in true “make do and mend”  fashion it has been adapted for the job in hand! 
Something we love about the French, they use what they have! 
This is an old piece too, you can see this from the glass in the door, which is very old, complete with the odd bubble. 
Whatever it was needed for, it now makes a striking cabinet to display small ironstone or similar treasures.
