1920’s/30’s Salter Scales for Bathroom or Dr’s Surgery with Enamel Dial
Rare original cast iron Salter Scales with an enamel dial, manufactured for doctors or family use.
This particular style was manufactured from 1921 to 1938 and the design was called The Carlton. They marketed them as suitable for either a doctor’s surgery (hence the holes in the base, to screw them to the floor), or the home.
Bearing the original paintwork which has worn over its 100 years. They have been cleaned for use in the home, however are otherwise in original as found condition!
Still in working order, these magnificent scales bear a striking resemblance to the Starship Enterprise from the1960’s SCIFI series Star Trek!!
A fabulous addition to the bathroom or downstairs loo (or doctor’s surgery)!
A great piece of Art Deco styling.
